Granted, I’ve had an AARP’ card since the day Ed and I were married. To clarify~I was honored with an AARP’ card simply because Ed had one. And, Thursdays at the local grocery store and discount store are nice because seniors (for which I am old enough) get a discount. There, I got that off of my chest!
But, I am not old enough to get the senior free pass at our local school sports games. Yes, it would be nice, but how many times do I have to tell the ticket lady my age? It got to be a point of laughter and “do ya wanta bet she asks me again“ between my Hubby and I, and the couple we attend the games with. Everytime we walked up to the table, Ed (my Hubby) would show the lady his free pass, and she would say “why don’t you have a senior pass“? To which I would say, “I’m not old enough yet”! Then it happened! On trip #8 to the game, the lady looked at me and said, “oh yeh, you’re not old enough for a senior free pass“!
I miss the “old days“! The lady that asked so many times, “why don’t you have a senior pass“, is gone. I think she’s just not working the ticket table anymore~she did her time at the table. The new lady just takes the money, and “I PASS“!
