These past few days were spent with friends, retreating to a beautiful and peaceful place in Branson. There were 13 of us, just hanging out, away from the cares of life.  One of the things that Ed and I crave in this season of our lives is the fellowship of friends.  It’s soothing for the soul, and physically and mentally healthy for the mind and body to share life with friends.

We had the best time!  We have all retreated together before, and the more we are together, the more we relax together and encourage one another within the simplicity of just being in one another’s presence~nurturing our friendships.

We…

  • Prayed together
  • Played together
  • We shared an abundance of good food together
  • Sang The Old Hymns together
  • Laughed together, and laughed together, and laughed together…
  • Shared facts of life together
  • Shared God’s Word together, and
  • Shared some hugs together
  • Shared our joys together
  • Even shed a few tears together
  • Our guys read the paper together
  • And YES, we acted CRAZY together
  • Oh, and did I say we laughed together…

Our Guys played basketball together, while we Gals cheered them on.  We played like children.  How cool is that, at our age! Not a question~it’s a statement!  Thanks Lord, for NO INJURY(s) and NO EMERGENCY ROOM RUNS!

My Hubby is a “sing in the shower” kind a’ guy.  That’s a norm for him.  When we arrived home, he sang the whole time he was unloading the car.  And, he looked at me after we got everything in the house and said to me, “I haven’t seen you play and laugh like you did these past few days, in a long time“.  I’d say, with no uncertainty, that we had a great time!

Friendship ~ It Truly is Soothing For The Soul, and Physically and Mentally Healthy For The Mind and Body to Share Life With Friends!
