Bathe-ing The Scripture In Prayer
John 15:1-11
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”
Gracefully, Accept Your Place of Honor as The Daughter of Your King
As I was bathe-ing this passage of Scripture in prayer, I was reminded of what can happen when we are disconnected from our source of power. It really was a small thing, in the scheme of life, that happened. But, it does illustrate being disconnected. Several times our internet just stopped working, and I would lose connection to my posting ability. I lost access to this blog site, and could not communicate my heart. What I did write down, in an attempt to communicate my heart, was lost. I became disconnected.
Jesus tells us, in John 15, that He is our power source. He said, “I am the true vine, My Father is the gardener, and I am the branch…no branch can bear fruit by itself. It must remain in the vine”. I must stay connected to my power source if I wish to bear the fruit of My King!
No one wants to intentionally disconnect themselves from a power source. After all, we need our power sources for so many things. In my world, it’s difficult to do anything without electricity, or drive my car without a battery, or write this post without the internet. Why would I want to intentionally disconnect from all of the above sources of power? Why would I want to intentionally disconnect myself from My King?
In this-worldly life, the Daughter of an Honorable King would do everything possible to remain in the royal family. The King is not only her source of power, but her source for the sustenance of life. She will need her source of power to live, and to carry out her responsibilities as a Daughter of an Honorable King. She will need to hold on tight and stay connected.
As I continued to meditate on John 15, I realized what an honor it is to be a Daughter of My King. I realized that I am promised My King’s best, if I remain in Him.
Jesus promised me, that if I remain in Him and His Words remain in me, and if I obey His commands just as He obeyed His Father’s commands…
- I could ask whatever I wish, and it would be given to me
- I would bear much fruit, showing myself to be His disciple
- I would remain in His Love
- His joy would be in me, and my joy may be complete
God whispers to me, “come close to me and I will come close to you~wash your hands and purify your heart~for I know that the world pulls at you and tries to divide you from me”. James 4:8
God whispers to me, “stick to me like glue. I want you to stick so close to me that no one can pull us apart. So, hang on tight to me, no matter what is going on in your life. When you stick close to me, our bond will be strengthened and you will be able to carry out your responsibilities as an Honorable Daughter ~ of an Honorable King”.
God whispers to me, “…come out and be separate. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you will be my daughter”. 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (see also Isaiah 43:6-7)
Hold On Tight ~ Accept Your Place Of Honor
The Asian Scroll above is the 1st, in my series of 6. It was hand painted in water-color by a friend in Northeast Asia. The writing on the scroll is a passage of Scripture from John 15 ~ The Vine and The Branches. The scroll is a treasure, to us, and hangs on a wall in our home.

Wow this could not have came at any better time, the holyspirit really convicted my heart with this one!
Amanda, You Are The King’s Daughter and His promises are waiting for you!
