Love ~ Know The Difference

Puppy Love has been defined as transitory love or affection.  It has been said that it is temporary, momentary and passing. When my Hubby and I teach about love, we often talk about Puppy Love.  I like to use my pretty, pink, stuffed puppy to illustrate Puppy Love (see picture below).  My puppy is cute and cuddly.  I Wuv My Puppy. I Wuv everything he says and he does.  I just want to be around him all the time.  But, we all know that puppies begin to leave little puddles around.  They make messes.  They howl and bark sometimes, and they just seem to lose that cuteness, that attracted us to them in the first place. It can take a matter of days, a few weeks or several months for this to happen.  But, it does happen.

It is at this time, when Puppy Love begins to fade, that we make a decision.  We make the decision to embrace Real LoveReal love is ceaseless, everlasting, long-lived, permanent, timeless, undying and unending.  It is durable, persistent, imperishable and indestructible ~ enduring any puddles or messes we find lying around or within.

Love ~ Embrace The Difference

If, within the Love of Your Life, you have been fortunate enough to have experienced Puppy Love and Real Love, embrace the difference ~ Simply because you Know the difference and have been truly blessed with one of God’s Treasures.  You and the Love of Your Life know that Puppy Love happens ahead of Real Love.  You know that Real Love happens because of, and by way of Puppy Love.

Real Love
“…is patient,  is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
